Abstract

An environmental education program primarily focused on ecosystem preservation was constructed in Aya Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, which was registered as Aya Biosphere Reserve (hereinafter “BR”) in 2012. As expressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter “SDGs”), the Earth's environmental problems are recognized as a pressing issue. In order to address this issue, it is important to develop personnel who will support the next generation. The state of the environmental education program conducted within Aya BR is regarded as Project & Program Management framework, and the program was implemented in Aya Town. A system was constructed that provided environmental education for students throughout the entire region by integrating the principles of industry, government, and academia in line with the environmental education program at Aya BR. The purpose was to develop and demonstrate environmental education teaching materials that utilize remote sensing technology.
