This paper presents the rationale of design and implementation of a community-wide information sharing platform: Ajimu Information Sharing Platform (Ajimu-ISP) that intends to enhance communicability among multiple stakeholders in sharing information across the agro-forestry value chain in which enhancing information visibility and facilitating user friendly interface are major system design concerns. ISP will inherit the salient features of social networking systems while addressing the specific needs of the stakeholders of Ajimu-Project. The system provides an array of functions that range from real-time monitoring of climatic information to mining of implicit knowledge acquired from the users.
