Abstract

Many of the significant advances in technology that have been applied to new heavy-duty gas turbines since the early 1970s can also be applied to field units to achieve increased performance, life or reliability. Several types of improvements are available for compressors, combustion systems, hot gas path turbine components and turbine controls. A summary is presented of upgrade packages available for several General Electric (U.S.A) gas turbine models and control systems.
