Abstract
Considering that most of the day is spent in work environments, being more susceptible to stress, anxiety and depression, the characteristics of built environment become facilitators of an adequate space, helping in productivity and quality of life; or an inadequate space, causing discomfort on users. Corporate environments have changed since the Industrial Revolution, passing from totally segregated to open spaces, which currently have great usability with their free floor plans. Therefore, this study consists on a bibliographic review of the history and typologies of offices, aiming to understand when they were applied and why, and analyzing the influence of parameters related to user satisfaction and well-being in corporate environments. Physical, cognitive and psychic factors were considered and delimited in this study as: individual aspects, color, thermal comfort, luminous comfort, acoustic comfort, ergonomics and biophilia, gathering data on them, analyzing how they interfere in the productivity and health of users, how they can help for better results and its application according to normatives. Thereby the study resulted on a broad theoretical content with approaches from different authors, which allowed to understand possible design solutions, as well as the parameters that influence for a better quality of life at those environments. Key-words: Environmental comfort. Built environment. Biophilia. Offices. Ergonomics.
