Abstract

Reliability and security of the power system are dependent on the proper operation of the high voltage circuit breakers (HVCBs). This paper presents a novel Gaussian function-based model to forecast the remaining useful lifetime (RUL) of the HVCBs based on the historical failure data. The model deals with the mean time to failure reliability index instead of failure rate. Furthermore, the service type of the HVCBs is also incorporated into the proposed model.
