This study aims to analyze the needs of educational staffs at Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University (UKWMS) in carrying out correspondence tasks. The research used a quantitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. Data shows that educational staff mostly was not a graduated from administration study and has never received correspondence training. Problems in correspondence that occur in UKWMS mostly occur in the scope of submitting letters, then making letters, and thirdly sending letters. This condition is recognized by education personnel so that most respondents (81.8%) agree that correspondence training is needed for education staff. UKWMS not yet have a standard for letter management. Most respondents (86.3%) agree that letter management guidelines are needed to support their task for drafting letters.
