Abstract
Closed form solutions for evaluating the field diffracted by a junction consisting of a tapered lossless dielectric wedge on a perfectly conducting surface are presented in this paper. They are obtained by formulating the radiation integral in terms of electric and magnetic physical optics surface currents, and by using useful analytical manipulations completed by uniform asymptotic evaluations of the resulting integrals. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions is tested via numerical simulations.
