The interviews were transcribed, and then analysed through thematic analysis. Abstract

Reading is one of the most essential academic skills that students need in order to carry out their studies at university level. Therefore, the present study aimed to explore the effective reading strategies taught in a madrasa-cum-school. The study was qualitative in nature and used a case study design. In this connection, 10 teachers of a madrasa-cum-school were selected as a sample of the population. They were interviewed for 30 to 40 minutes.
