In this article, a portable stepped frequency radar for trough wall detection based on a software control transceiver chip was designed and presented The radar uses bow-tie phased-array antennas with reflectors, has an operational frequency band of 1 – 3.8 GHz and can be used for 2D or 3D target localization.
