The circuit possesses redundancy feature such that only two out of four switches were required to operate and ensure that the continuity of the rectifier operation with power factor correction (PFC). The proposed rectifier has four options to operate. Hence, to switch in between options when there is open circuit fault, the rectifier operates in closed loop, where the controller of the circuit monitors the output of rectifier. Thus, the controller is proposed to switch to different mode depending on the fault. A new technique to identify the exact location of faulty switch based on the rectifier is proposed. The faulty switch is detected by analyzing the voltage of charging capacitor, the current options, and the cycle of input power supply. With this, continuous voltage and current can be ensure. Abstract
