Abstract
The Internet of Everything (IoE) is a novel term that presents a modern concept of extended Internet of Things (IoT) definition. IoT emphases on communication machine-to-machine (M2M), while IoE is a concept that encompasses people-to-machine (P2M) and people-to-people (P2P) connections via the Internet. While IoT is oriented to connect physical objects (things), IoE connects data, processes, people and objects. Presented in this paper is an innovative model developed in Node-RED for brain-computer interface to communicate with "everything". It includes different electroencephalography devices to acquire signals associated to the brain activity and transmit EEG data to the web or cloud for more efficient computations and connections to different IoE devices, IoE services and people. A case study that validated the proposed model is presented. A new node "openbci-input" is designed and developed to enrich the Node-RED's capabilities to extend the connectivity of the OpenBCI device and the ability to transmit data over the Internet.
