A “desruralização” do Rio de Janeiro ao tempo de Pereira Passos

Abstract

In this work I examine urban transformations in Rio de Janeiro between years of the Pereira Passos administration (1903-1906), especially those wich affected the relation rural-urban hosted in the city. It had central role in the system supply which realize needs of people and that report to colonial era. This research is about a period that urban zone became an space of consumption, exclusively. And no more an space of food production.
