Penyuluhan Pemilihan dan Penggunaan Kosmetika yang Tepat dan Aman di Kalangan Remaja

Abstract

In the adolescent age, cosmetics application is a vital need. The chemicals in cosmetics do not always have the same effect on consumers. Some cosmetics contain hazardous ingredients that are not permitted in cosmetics. The problems in the selection and application of cosmetics among adolescents can be caused by the lack of information they receive about appropriate and safe cosmetics. In this counseling, it has been explained how to choose the appropriate and safe cosmetics by checking packaging, label, distribution license, and expiration time on cosmetics. Participants have been explained about some of the dangerous substances that may be in cosmetics. This counseling was held on January 10th, 2021, with 62 participants. The pretest and posttest were held for the participants. The test results revealed a 13.4% increase in adolescent knowledge regarding selecting and using safe and appropriate cosmetics.
