By calculating the cutting force in the turning process using the empirical formula in the actual production, analyzing the surface layer residual area in the cutter cutting process, abstracting the relationship between cutters and workpieces into a vibration model, and mapping all the changes of physical factors in the cutting process into the virtual manufacturing system, prediction of the surface roughness in the CNC turning simulation system is thus achieved. Abstract
