Abstract

We studied the cooperativity between geomagnetic observations determined by the total cross-correlations between geomagnetic data from different observatories and global solar activity indices. After some preliminary data analysis that included the elimination of outlier measurement likely corresponding to anomalous solar activity and associated magnetic storm conditions, using regression analysis method we have determined the relationship between studied indices even for moderate geomagnetic perturbations. Our results indicate that the approach based on considering a network of observations from different geographical locations may be useful for determining geomagnetic perturbations at global scales that highly correlate with the respective global solar activity indices.
