Abstract

Educational researchers use observations to collect information about classroom activities as they occur. Currently the most prevalent methods of logging classroom observations are pen-and-paper or video recording. The former is inefficient, especially in large classes while the latter requires expensive infrastructure. In this paper we propose the design framework for the development of a software application for protocol-based multi-observer data logging and analysis called PULSE.
