Abstract

To accurately simulate the operating charcteristics of turbine generator running after loss of excitation, this paper established a field-circuit-motion direct coupled FEA model, obtained stator terminal voltage, stator current, speed and other variables waveforms after loss of excitation, as well as the distribution of rotor eddy current; through indirect magneticthermal coupling model to achieve the temperature distributed in the rotor. A 1000MW turbine generator loss of excitation is calculated, through the rotor temperature rise as well as the fluctuations of active and reactive power, relevant conclusions for such fault operation of generator are given.
