Abstract

Renewable energy sources will be a vital option for electricity supply in rural communities. The objective of this research article is to plan a hybrid microgrid system for a rural district of Orissa i.e., Sundargarh in India. The performance of the hybrid system is analyzed based on the Total Net Present Cost (NPC), Energy Cost, Operating Cost (O.C.), and Initial Capital Cost (ICC) of the microgrid system. Also, the power production through different energy components and environmental pollutant patterns being analyzed in this article. The software employed in this study is HOMER.
