INFORMS and Advocacy During the Coronavirus Crisis

Abstract

Before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, INFORMS was hard at work--and continues to be--using a diverse set of platforms to help highlight the importance of data-driven decision-making and how operations research (OR) and analytics can be better used by policymakers to save lives, save money and solve problems Here, the series of issue-specific briefings on Capitol Hill introduced by INFORMS to continue to engage the policymaking ecosystem (policymakers, staff, stakeholders, think tanks, etc ) with the community is discussed
