In communicating, a political figure uses language to achieve goals. One of the uses of language in political communication is the style of language used to gain sympathy, show empathy, steal attention, and get support. The purpose of this study is to describe the language style of the national political figure Surya Paloh. The data in this study are in the form of speeches from three national political figures, including Surya Paloh. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The technical analysis of research data is data identification, classification, interpretation, and conclusions. The results of this study are viewed from the theory of Gorys Keraf's style of language based on whether or not the meaning used by the national political figure Surya Paloh in this study is dominated by rhetorical language style, while figurative language style is rarely used. From 119 data, the rhetorical style of 77 (64.7%) and figurative language style of 42 (35.3%) were found. Surya Paloh uses flowery language to emphasize the speech's content through questions that do not need to be answered because Surya Paloh's intention is already contained in the question so that the speech delivered is more exciting and not monotonous.
