The orientation of VHSs is to train students to be qualified enough for the world of work in the future. In other words, VHSs focus on the students’ readiness to do certain job expertise. In order to achieve this goal, the English teacher should provide English learning materials that are appropriate to their fields and based on the students’ need. Eventually, English teachers in VHSs are expected to have the ability to analyze the students’ needs, so that they can design appropriate instructional materials. The purpose of this research was to describe the need analysis results of students who were prospective workers as well as English learners. This study involved 21 eleventh grade students of Multimedia Study Program at vocational school SMK Negeri 5 Jayapura. The data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed based on the interpretation of frequency and percentage. The results show that the needs of students towards learning English are to meet the academic professions and the future needs of the students, including the skills of the language and some of the language components. 在职业高中学习英语与在高中学习英语是不同的。vhs的定位是培养学生有足够的资格在未来的工作世界。换句话说,vhs关注的是学生对某些工作技能的准备情况。为了实现这一目标,英语教师应该根据学生的需要提供适合自己领域的英语学习材料。最后,我们希望vhs的英语教师能够分析学生的需求,从而设计出合适的教学材料。本研究的目的是描述学生的需求分析结果谁是未来的工人和英语学习者。本研究以21名就读于SMK Negeri 5 Jayapura职业学校多媒体学习课程的高二学生为研究对象。数据通过问卷收集,并根据频率和百分比的解释进行分析。结果表明,学生对学习英语的需求是为了满足学术职业和学生未来的需求,包括语言技能和一些语言成分。关键词:需求分析,ESP,高职,学习需求
