Abstract

A direct domain decomposition method (D3M) for non-conforming finite element electromagnetic computations is proposed. This method extends the applicability of the conforming D3M in [5] to domains with non-matching unstructured triangulations across domain interfaces, while retaining symmetry, minimal size and sparsity of the interface matrix. The method relies on a novel integral equation (IE) based coupling. This coupling offers markedly improved accuracy and reliability over the more conventional Dirichlet transmission condition nonconforming coupling. Numerical results confirm the accuracy of the proposed non-conforming D3M on complex and realistic structures.
