The purpose of vocational college is preparing the students with skills and ready to work in the field. This paper attempted to find interesting strategies that both the students and lecturers choose to achieve the goals of the vocational college, in a class of Writing for Media Communication in Politeknik Negeri Padang. The students were in second year in college and the lecturers who taught them.
