Abstract

Soft computing coined by Prof. Zadeh is now an established problem solving methodology. It is well known that the intelligent systems, which can provide human like expertise such as domain knowledge, uncertain reasoning, and adaptation to a noisy and time varying environment, are important in tackling practical computing problems. This tutorial introduces the basic ingredients of soft computing and then focus on some generic architectures of soft computing in a hybrid environment.
