An assessment method based on region entropy is provided. First divide fusion image into background region and target region based on automatic maximum variance threshold method. Then calculate region entropy respectively. According to human visual system characteristics load greater weight factor to region of interest than others, which increase the influence degree of target region entropy. Experiment result shows region entropy assessment is closer to the subjective evaluating result than the whole entropy assessment method. Abstract
