Abstract

The occurrence rate of inter-turn short circuit fault of turbo-generator rotor winding is high, the fault degree is serious, which will seriously affect the safe and stable operation of the generator. In order to shorten the repair time of inter-turn short circuit fault, it is necessary to study the fault detection and location technology. However, traditional fault detection methods such as DC resistance method, inter-electrode power method, AC impedance and power loss method can only find faults, and can not directly locate fault points. In this paper, a inter-turn short circuit fault location method based on repeated pulse method (RSO) is proposed, which is achieved by analyzing signal propagation time, winding symmetry and fault feature database. And the method is successfully applied in field measurement.
