Abstract

Phased-array signal processing is one of the essential techniques for acoustic emission remote sensing and measurements. Acoustic analysis is becoming an important part of diagnostic tools in diverse industrial areas. Acoustic emission generated by a power transformer carries useful information about its operation load and health condition. In the paper, we discuss the suitability of acoustic camera to perform contactless monitoring of the health and operation conditions of the power transformer by analysing acoustic field generated by the transformer core and windings.
