Simulation and optimization result was verified by actual measurement, and the EMI issue was resolved. Abstract

In order to solve an EMI issue which caused the uplink transmission from ground-fixed balise to on-board BTM antenna abnormal, an installing metal shielding plate measure was proposed through a series of simulation analysis. The BTM antenna and reference loop model was built as uplink transmission system, a car body on rail segment model was built as environmental condition, a simplified jamming loop model was built as source of interference EM field. The metal plate shielding effectiveness was optimized between EMI suppression effect and the BTM antenna performance degradation. Simulation and optimization result was verified by actual measurement, and the EMI issue was resolved. The measure can be used to protect BTM antenna against interference EM environment for engineering application.
