The insertion and growth of female participation was one of the most significant changes that occurred. However, in some activities the presence of women is rare and the discrimination facing great. This work sought to discuss students' perceptions about different career possibilities for women and men, and the role that Biology can play in the deconstruction of this difference. The research was carried out with students aged 16 to 18 from a peripheral school in the interior of São Paulo. Abstract
