It may occur both in the pregnant and non-pregnant state. Abstract
We report a case of a 17 year old female with Hemoglobin SC (Hgb SC) disease and an early intrauterine pregnancy who sustained a significant hemoperitoneum secondary to a hemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst.A ruptured corpus luteum cyst presenting with significant hemoperitoneum is a rare but life threatening condition requiring immediate surgical intervention.
