Abstract
Aircraft landing is a very important aspect for any aircraft be it a civil or a passenger aircraft. The key obstacle in aircraft is bad weather conditions such as fog, mist, rain. This makes it difficult for an aircraft to land accurately. The instrument landing system (ILS) is a ground-based approach that gives planes approaching the runway precise direction. To ensure a safe landing in bad weather, it uses a combination of high intensity lighting arrays and radio signals. The gliding scope array offers vertical guidance while the localizer provides lateral guidance. The marking beacons serve as a check on the guide slope's proper operation. The main objective is to minimize the systems to provide the same enhanced functionality. By comparing the proposed design of ILS with IoT to the existing GPS based system gives improved accuracy in terms of horizontal and vertical landing of an aircraft.
