Abstract

: This critical study deals with the issue of refugees and displaced persons from the State of South Sudan and a review of the causes and motives for the problem of asylum and displacement, as well as the challenges facing the United Nations in protecting refugees and displaced persons in the State of South Sudan, which was newly independent in 2011 from Sudan, and the Republic of South Sudan became the most recent 193 country in the world. Despite its separation and independence, challenges persisted and varied between tribal rebellion, ethnic, religious, linguistic, cultural and climatic pluralism, the crisis of national integration or national unity, religious, cultural and ethnic conflicts, human rights violations, armed clashes, insecurity and instability, obstructing the access of humanitarian aid to the displaced, refugees, victims of grave violations and violence, lack of funding for humanitarian operations, foreign interference in the affairs of the newly born state, conflicts over resources, the challenge of poverty, land mines and the clan ownership system in agricultural tenure, and finally, we draw some results and put some recommendations and suggestions.
