Abstract

Industrial process control is based on the process information. The information acquired from process use to be transmitted through the analog channels to computer control systems or DCSs, which added some inter-steps in information acquisition process. As the progress in technologies, the lower level of the control system has been developed into network with fieldbus technology, which makes the control system totally numerical. It has high precision and more flexibility that the process information acquisition based on fieldbus. This paper discuses the methods and advantages of process information acquisition based on fieldbus with an example.
