Using DEMATEL to Analyze Interrelationships of Risks Faced by Enterprise in R&D Network

Abstract

Since more and more enterprises tend to form R&D collaboration with other enterprises, thus if a risk of the cooperative enterprise occurs, it may trigger some potential risk of the enterprise. The related research on risks faced by enterprise has been mainly focus on the categories of risks and how they interrelated with each other. However, these researches ignore that most risks are not only interrelated with the enterprise but also interrelated with some risks of the cooperative enterprises. In this situation, it is more challenge to manage risk for enterprise. Therefore, effectively managing risks interrelated is important to the success of R&D activity. To address this gap, this paper groups risks faced by enterprise in R&D network based on the literature review, and proposes how to use DEMATEL approach to analyze the complicated interrelationship of risks considering both the risk inside the enterprise and risk of the cooperative enterprise.
