Different rotor topologies are also investigated by means of FEA to be able to compare the maximal, average torque and torque ripple. Further mechanical aspects of rotor for RSM are done. The selection of thickness of tangential and central bridges is taken into account. Abstract

This paper deals with high speed electrical machines in automotive industrial and in common applications. The different types of electrical machines and their suitability for high speed utilization are discussed.
