Abstract

in this paper partial discharge (PD) fault of large synchronous machine are studied. Different defects result in various types of PD fault are introduced in order to better understanding of PD phenomenon. In addition, measurement methods of PD, categorized in four electrical, acoustic, visual and chemical groups, are introduced. Finally, these industrial measurement systems competencies are compared.
