Abstract

The direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) generators are the basic elements of on-board power supply units. Contactless generators are alternating electric machines, which are characterized by a special construction and non-traditional ways of excitation. 3D modeling using CAD systems enabled the significant improvement of the generator construction analysis and its operational properties, which led to weight and size reduction with no power sacrifice.
