Abstract

Sidelink Relay, which can be regarded as an evolvement of D2D (Device-to-Device) technology developed in LTE, has a wide application scenario. Therefore, in 3GPP Rel-17, there is one independent work item approved to discuss any potential enhancements which can be made for NR sidelink relay. In this paper, some critical features for Rel-17 sidelink relay are introduced and further potential enhancements oriented for 5G Advanced are also described.
