Abstract
The introduction of innovations in any sphere of life without a specific person is impossible. The purpose of this article is to consider the innovative potential of a university teacher as a necessary condition for accepting the challenges of our time. The components of the individual’s innovative potential are highlighted, and conclusions are drawn about their formation on the basis of the study.
