Abstract

Geriatric patients become dependent on others as a result of a variety of health problems that cause them to lose their independence. As they struggle with a variety of age-related health issues, they are constantly in need of assistance. The everyday health issues include high blood pressure, irregular heart rate, variations in the sleep cycle, problems with body balance, emotional changes, stress-based illness, loneliness. They need assistance in order to satisfy their daily needs, but they are also required to be independent to some extent. Numerous studies cover independent human health monitoring utilizing the internet of things (IoT), which tracks heart rate, level of oxygen, body temperature, and also identifies falls individually. An implementation of a design prototype that aids in monitoring the health parameters of geriatric individuals within a single system is included in this work. The measurements involve heart rate, oxygen content in blood, body temperature and trace unintentional falls by capturing the video. The sensors within the system will take real-time measurements of geriatric patient’s health conditions. Additionally, it will support the geriatric individuals and alert them when in need.
