Relationship between self-esteem and adolescent sexual behavior

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship betweem self- esteem with  sexual behavior . This research is a quantitative study involving students of SMA Negeri 13 Padang with a total sample of 278 students.The instrument used to colled data in this study was a questionnaire. Data analysis using person product moment correlation technique using  statistic product and service solution (SPSS). These result show the correlation coefficient with this study is -0,686 and the significant level is <,001. This means that there is a significant negative relationship between self- esteem anf sexual behavior  . This means that the higher the self-esteem , the lower the students sexual behavior, and vive versa, yhe lower the self-esteem , the higher the sexual behavior.
