Abstract

Complex systems are characterized as such due to the many resources involved in their life cycle, as well as their interactions with other systems, actors, and artifacts. These characteristics affect decisions on to the design, operation, management, governance, and evolution of such systems, thus requiring a a better understanding of of the relationships among their elements.
