Abstract
Young people in international remedial classes are not only in need of careers guidance and German language lessons. They also need language learning which, based on aesthetic, holistic learning, takes their psychological, social and cultural background into account. Performative lessons in German as a second language play an important role in this, as relevant methods increase the learners’ motivation. They also make authentic, intercultural, reflected linguistic expression more accessible. This type of language teaching significantly complements lessons in German as a second language, which are usually based on course books, and promotes the acquisition of vocational communicative skills.
