Abstract
One of the main reasons HEVC coding is so much better than previous video coding standards is the variable TU size. HEVC uses the remaining quad tree to limit the above bits and allow flexibility in TU partitioning. Moreover, the adaptability of TU size greatly increases the complexity of the coder. This article discussed the implicit splitting of transform units used in HEVC to reduce encoder complexity while preserving encoding performance. This white paper also provides replay results to verify the TU's implicit partitioning encoding. The Joint Coding Task Force (JCT-VC) has recently developed a new generation of video coding standards and given them the moniker High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). This new standard offers a significant improvement in picture quality, which is particularly noticeable in videos with a high resolution. On the other hand, the complexity of time is one of the most significant obstacles in HEVC.
