Abstract
Scientific literacy is an important ability to be mastered by students. Adversity quotient (AQ) is currently very necessary in solving scientific problems in everyday life. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach by using a simple analysis in the form of elaboration of the results of the competence of scientific literacy skills and adversity quotient (AQ) of students in two private schools in the Cilodong sub-district, Depok City. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 69 people. The instrument used to measure scientific literacy skills is a question adopted from the PISA problem. While for adversity quotient (AQ) using a Likert scale. The results showed that the average scientific literacy ability of students was still low at 57.76% so it was in the poor category. The average competence of scientific literacy skills of students in the sub domains explains the phenomenon scientifically enough. At the sub domain, evaluating and designing scientific findings are less criteria. Sub domains interpret data and prove scientifically in less criteria. Adversity quotient (AQ) is grouped with norms of low, medium and high categories. The results of the analysis also show that there is a positive relationship between scientific literacy and adversity quotient (AQ) at 0.01 significance.
