Eradicating World Poverty: Microfinancing for Development

Abstract

Poverty is a global issue of great proportions as billions of individual reside in extreme poverty. The United Nations has made efforts and strides to effectively fight poverty, however, their current efforts have been insufficient. Social developers have been engaging in institutionalizing of microfinance and microlending. These ventures have been very successful in effectively building up the local infrastructure as well as increasing the earned income potential of the poor. The United Nations should henceforth, engage in a microfinance venture.
