The asynchronous opportunity update is adopted to make the best of the idle time of CPU to refresh the outdated WebViews as much as possible, and the deferred update is employed to refresh those requested WebViews which have not yet been updated by the opportunity update. OUDA not only guarantees the freshness of queries, but also greatly lessens the contest between update tasks and query service process. Abstract

WebView materialization is an important technology in improving the performance of database-backed Web server in terms of response time.
