The system performance is analyzed over the composite fading channel. More specifically, the outage probability (OP) formula is obtained for interference limited ISTN systems operating over shadowed-Rician and extended generalized-K (EGK) fading channels, for satellite and terrestrial links, respectively. The results are indicated on the basis of Fox's H function. This new formula is versatile and can serve as an effective way to estimate the performance of ISTN systems.
