Abstract

Resilience modeling in the operation of a microgrid is the main challenge in this paper. The studied microgrid consists of the conventional power plants, wind power plants, energy storage systems, and interruptible and uninterruptible loads. The proposed model for operation planning of the microgrid considering the resiliency is based on a probabilistic optimization method. Total operational costs consist of the normal and incident modes cost are considered in the objective function. The limitations of the conventional power plants, energy storage systems, and microgrid are formulated as the constraints of the problem. The stochastic nature of disconnecting from the upstream network is modeled as a scenario based formulation. The scenarios consists of the incident happening and the starting hour of the incident. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear program and is solved by MIP solver in GAMS. Numerical results confirm the capability of the proposed model.
