Abstract

Marsha Harris accepts a new position as chief financial officer for the divisional marketing, sales, and distribution functions of a huge appliance manufacturer. On her first day, she is told she got the job because of her gender. One year after taking the job, her boss tells her she must reduce her staff of 250 by 47%.
